Star Micronics SP700 Set Up

The Star Micronics SP700 is a wired impact printer used as a kitchen printer.

Paper

The paper compatible with this printer must be kitchen printer paper (with a slightly rough texture) and have a width of 3" and diameter 83mm. 

This printer accepts ink ribbon cartridges in black, blue, and red/black combo.

Set Up

Ethernet/LAN printers are connected to your talech register through the Network. These devices are typically wired directly to the Network Router that broadcasts your Wi-Fi signal or to a port on a wall. 

The printer is designed to work out-of-the-box. Connect power, ethernet and any other accessories (e.g., cash drawer) to get started. 

1. Navigate to the Back Office on the talech register. 
2. Tap on 'Printers’. 
3. Tap 'Auto Detect’. 

Note: Auto-detect can take up to several minutes depending on the number of printers and configuration of your Network. 

You can also tap the ' + ' button in the top right corner to add a printer manually using the IP address. See the steps below for instructions to obtain the IP of your printer. 

Tap on a Printer then tap 'Test Print' to verify the Printer is functioning correctly.

Printing an IP address

To print an IP address, follow the steps below: 

1. Turn the printer off. 
2. Hold the 'FEED' button on the front of the printer. 
3. Switch on the power. 
4. Continue to hold the feed button for 2 seconds then release. 

Note that the printer may print two long sheets of paper, the IP address details will be at the bottom of the second printout.
