How to pair your link 2500 with talech Mobile
- Log in to your talech Mobile app and go to the home page.
- Select Settings > Card readers.
- Tap the + (plus) button to add a card reader.
- Select Link/2500.
- An in-app pairing Guide will appear in the talech Mobile app and walk you through the pairing process.

In-app pairing guide
- Press and hold the green button until the Link/2500 turns on. Allow a few moments for the device to load the welcome screen.
- Type in 0001 to open the ADMIN MENU (if you don't see this then you will need to select 0003 instead).
- Press 1 to select Communication Type.
- If Bluetooth is already selected (4 – Bluetooth or 5-Bluetooth_PCL are acceptable), press the red button and continue to the next step.
- If Bluetooth is not selected, tap Bluetooth not selected? on the in-app guide on your phone.

- On the Link/2500, Press 4 – Bluetooth or 5 – Bluetooth (whichever option you see).
- Press and hold the red button until Save and Reboot appears.
- Press 1 to confirm.
- Wait for the reader to reboot, then tap Continue on the in-app guide on your phone and proceed to the next step.
- Look in the upper left corner of the Link/2500 display for a Bluetooth icon.
- If you see the Bluetooth icon, proceed to the next step.
- If you don’t see the Bluetooth icon, tap Not seeing a Bluetooth icon? on the in-app guide on your phone.

- On the Link/2500, press 0001 (or 0003 if that’s what worked earlier).
- Press 3 – Bluetooth Parameters.
- Press 1 to switch on Bluetooth and wait for the Bluetooth icon to show in the upper left.
- Press Continue and proceed to the next step.
- Type in 0001 (or 0003 if that’s what worked earlier) to open the ADMIN MENU.
- Select 3 – Bluetooth Parameters.
- Select 1 – Pair or 2 – Phone Pairing (whichever option you see). If a QR code displays, press any button to continue.
- The Link/2500 displays the device name. Navigate to your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Ensure that your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on.
- In your phone’s Bluetooth settings, locate the Link/2500’s device ID and select it (it should match what’s displayed on the Link/2500).
- When a PIN or passkey prompt displays on your phone, press the green button on the Link/2500 and then the Pair button on your phone.
- The Link 2500 should show as Connected in your phone’s Bluetooth settings and a success message should display on the Link/2500.
- Return to the talech Mobile app. Follow Run a Test Transaction on talech Mobile to ensure your Link 2500 is successfully connected.
| Important! You may be prompted to update the firmware when you run a test transaction, or the update may begin automatically when you return to the talech Mobile app. |
Update the Link 2500 firmware
- If you receive a prompt to update the Link 2500, allow the update to run.
- Keep the talech Mobile application running during the update and do not use the phone or the card reader to avoid interrupting the update and damaging the firmware.
- The update can take up to 25 minutes to run.
- When the update is complete, you’ll see a pairing success screen.
- Follow Run a Test Transaction on talech Mobile to confirm your Link 2500 is successfully connected and ready to process payments.
| Note: The Link 2500 V1 is a supported device, however, if an issue arises and the device is determined to be faulty after exhausting all troubleshooting steps, a direct exchange for the same device is not available. Instead, an exchange must be made for a Link 2500 V2 device. |
