Setting up your Moby 5500 with a talech Register 

Before beginning the pairing process ensure that your Moby 5500 has been charged for at least 2-3 hours.  

  1. From your iPad go to the Settings app. 
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is toggled to the 'On' position. 
  3. Turn on the Moby/5500 by pressing and holding the power button at the top of the device until a red light appears next to it. 
  4. Release the power button then there should be a flashing blue light next to the red power light. Congratulations – your Moby/5500 is now in pairing mode! 
  5. On your iPad navigate to the talech app dashboard and select Back Office
  6. Select Settings > Card Reader > Select Moby/5500
  7. Tap on Pairing Instructions and swipe left for instructions. 
  8. Confirm that numbers on your iPad match the 8 digits Serial Number found on the back of the Moby/5500, press and release the power button on the Moby/5500 immediately after. When you’re ready tap Start Pairing
Note: It will spin for about 20 seconds and provide you an on-screen pairing request. Confirm the number, once it is confirmed, it will connect after 10-15 seconds. 
  1. Perform a test payment.

No, the device will remain on during the charging process.

Does the Moby 5500 have a sleep mode?

Yes, the device will turn off after 5-10 minutes when not being used.

How do I wake up the Moby 5500 if it is turned off or in sleep mode?

You can manually turn on the device by pressing the small black power button.
