In many busy kitchens, chefs and cooks often need advance notice of what orders are coming down the pipeline. Tickets can be sent to kitchen printers in a Held State, letting cooks know to begin prepping. Waitstaff can then anticipate when guests will be ready for the next course and Fire the ticket at the appropriate time to ensure that guests experience a seamless multi-course meal.

Note: The Fire/Hold feature is available for Premium Restaurant Merchants only.

  1. In the talech Register App, go to Back Office > Settings > General. Under the Order section, select Coursing

Tap Add a Course to create a new course. By default, additional courses will be set to Hold. Tap on the Course Header to switch focus between Courses.

  • Tap on Fire / Hold in the course header to toggle between the two states. You can also drag & drop items between courses.

When everything is in its proper course and position, press the Send button to generate order tickets. The items in the order will turn Blue, and the order header will be time stamped with the Fired time.

Additional items can be added to a Course that has already been printed. If a course has already been Fired, users will only have the option to FIRE the course.
In courses that have been Held, the user can choose whether to Fire or continue to Hold. Sending these additional items will result in an order ticket that reads ADD-ON for the additional items.
