Preferences 

Device Name 

Rename the device.  

Landing View 

Choose the default view you wish to see when you sign into to talech. This can be the dashboard or straight to the register. 

Register View 

Choose whether you would like to see your menu/catalog or if you don’t have any items in your store, you can select a keypad to key in items manually. Don't worry, no matter your default selection, you can switch between your menu and keypad at any time from the register screen. 

  • Menu: Selecting Register brings you to your menu/catalog to select the menu items your customer is purchasing.  
  • Keypad: Selecting Register brings you directly to the keypad page. From here, you can key in the amount you wish to charge your customer with no need for the Menu items.

Connectivity 

Choose or change your Wi-Fi connection.

Payments 

Default Payment Type 

You can set the default payment type when processing a transaction. 

  • Credit/Debit Card 
  • Cash 
  • Gift Card 
  • Other 

Debit type 

Set the debit transaction behavior. 

  • No Preference 
  • US Common 
  • Global Network 

Require signature 

Set a signature requirement for all purchases or for purchases over a specific amount.

Taxes 

Create and add taxes to your products. Create applied, inclusive or flat rate taxes and apply them to your products with just a few taps. 

  1. To add a tax, tap on the + icon.

  1. Next, enter your Tax name, so you can find it later. 
  2. Choose whether to Add Tax to Item Price or Include Tax in Item Price.  

Tip! To create a flat-rate tax, select Add Tax to Item Price, select a $ amount instead of % and you can apply a flat fee to any order. 

  1. Enter the tax rate % or $ amount.

  1. To add your tax to products, select Categories and choose the relevant categories from the list, you can choose all, some, or even just one category. Once you have done this, you are ready to go.

Invoices 

Create and manage invoices directly from talech Terminal on Axium. You can then accept full or even partial payments against those invoices. 

Note: Invoices are a feature currently only available in North America.

From the Invoices settings, you can: 

  • Set your invoice numbers 
  • Choose whether to take online payments 
  • When to accept online payments and if you want to allow partial payments

Service Charges 

With talech Mobile you can create and add Service charges to your orders. 

  1.  To create a service charge, select the + icon.

  1. Next, give your service charge a name, choose the rate in either $ or %, and apply any taxes that are required for your service charge.

Tips 

  • Toggle Enable Tipping on to enable tips for when your customers think you deserve a little extra. 
  • Toggle Display Suggested Tips on to enable suggested tips for when you want to give a little hint. 
    • Set the suggested tips at custom amounts in either $ or % and set a default value.

Brightness

The brightness setting can be accessed from Android’s quick settings menu available by swiping down twice from the top of the screen.  

Note: If prompted for a password, contact support.
  1. Swipe down twice from the top of the screen to reveal the brightness settings bar.  
  2. Adjust the settings bar to your preference.

  1. Swipe up twice from the bottom of the screen to close the Android settings and return to the Terminal app.

Language settings

You can switch the language of the device from English to French or vice versa in the Android device settings accessed from Android’s quick settings menu available by swiping down twice from the top of the screen.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the device settings quick menu.
  2. Swipe down again to expand the quick menu further.
  3. Tap on the gear icon in the lower right corner to open the device settings.

  1. An “Input password” prompt appears, contact support for the code. 
  2. Scroll down and tap on System.
  3. Tap Languages & input.
  4. Tap Languages.
  5. English should be listed by default in the top position. Tap + Add a language.
  6. Select Francais (Canada) to add French to the list of languages.
  7. Press and hold your finger on the = to the right of the language and then drag it up or down to adjust the position of the languages. Whichever language is in the 1st position sets it as the default language for the device and the talech Terminal app.

Note: Only English or French are supported as languages for the talech Terminal app.
  1. Once done, tap the back arrow in the top left multiple times until you are returned to the settings screen with the “Input password” prompt.
  • If the password prompt appears, tap Cancel and the talech Terminal app automatically reopens.
  • If the password prompt does not appear, tap the back arrow on the bottom right of the screen to return to the talech Terminal app.

Time zone

You can change the time zone of the device in the Android device settings accessed from Android’s quick settings menu.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the device settings quick menu.
  2. Swipe down again to expand the quick menu further.
  3. Tap on the gear icon in the lower right corner to open the device settings.

  1. An “Input password” prompt appears. contact support for the code. 
  2. Swipe down and select System.
  3. Select Date & time.
  4. Adjust the settings as needed.
  5. Press the back button back button multiple times until you return to the talech Terminal app.
