Does my Apple device support the latest version of the talech applications?

The latest version of the talech Register and talech Mobile will require an Apple iOS 15 (or greater) operating system. Any devices operating on iOS 14 or earlier will not be compatible with the latest versions of talech applications required. Below are some recommended options to address this.

Option 1:

While we recommend that customers replace their iPad or iPhone with one that uses an iOS 15 operating system to access the talech applications, upgrading to an iOS 15+ will help avoid future issues as operating systems continue to age and no longer be maintained by Apple Support and talech.

Option 2:

Another option is to switch to an Android device. If you need assistance determining the best device for your business, you can reach out to your sales representative to learn more

Does my Android device support the latest version of the talech applications?

talech Register only supports AN 9 or greater. Any devices running a version of Android lower than AN 9 will not work.

Does the firmware of my card reader need to be updated?

Some card readers you use with talech Register will need to have their firmware updated to work with the most recent version of the application. See the article, Card Reader Updates for more information on how notifications will appear when a card reader update is available.

For other card readers the firmware update automatically starts or notifies you to begin the update once a transaction is run after the application is updated. After you update your talech Register application, run a test transaction to check for and initiate the firmware update.

If your firmware update doesn’t start automatically after a test transaction, search for your card reader on help.talech.com to find more information on firmware updates specific to your reader.

Important! Plan to update your firmware at the end of the day (or during off hours) as it may take a while to update.
