Follow these steps to set up your Pronto router with Elavon Point of Sale.
| Note: We suggest working with a network professional to ensure all devices (printers, card readers, etc.) are connected to the Pronto router as well as for any network wiring that may be required for this device. |
Before You Begin
- Make sure you have:
- The Pronto router
- Power adapter
- Ethernet cable
- Antennas (included in the box)
- Look on the Pronto’s packaging or on a sticker attached to the Pronto for the MAC address (e.g. 01:23:45:67:89:ab 00:0C:66: **: **) and write it down.
- Contact our support team at 1-888-995-1998 or support@talech.com to finish the configuration of the Pronto. Make sure you have the MAC address ready to provide to the support agent.
Setup
Attach the antennas
- The router includes two types of antennas. Locate the two flat antennas (these are for cellular service).
- There is a port on both short ends of the router labeled 4G/5G. Screw these flat antennas into the ports on both sides.
- Now locate the other four cylindrical antennas.
- Screw these four cylindrical antennas into the four Wi-Fi ports located on the front of the router.
Connect router to modem
- Take the Ethernet cable included in the box.
- Plug one end into an open port on your internet modem (provided by your internet service provider).
- Plug the other end into the WAN port on the Pronto router.
Power on the router
- Plug the power adapter into the port on the router labeled DC.
- Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
- The router will power on automatically. Wait until the router lights show the following before connecting any other devices:
- Power light: on.
- WAN light: blinking green
- SYS lights: solid green.
Install SIM card
If your router came with an Elavon SIM card, follow these steps to install it.
- Power the router off by unplugging the power cord from the DC port.
- Locate the SIM card slot on the back of the router.
- Insert the SIM card with the chip facing down.
- Press firmly until you feel or hear a click. The SIM should be fully inserted – not partially sticking out of the router.
- Once the SIM is fully inserted, plug the power cord back into the DC port to power it back on.
- A blue light indicates the router is using a cellular connection. If your primary internet connection goes down, the router will automatically switch to cellular within 10 seconds (if cellular service is available).
