With Bluetooth devices, some connectivity issues can arise. Refer to the troubleshooting steps below for the Link 2500.  

 

Note: The Link 2500 V1 is a supported device, however, if an issue arises and the device is determined to be faulty after exhausting all troubleshooting steps, a direct exchange for the same device is not available. Instead, an exchange must be made for a Link 2500 V2 device.

Link 2500 is not connecting

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled in the iPad settings.
  2. Force close all Apps on the iPad by double-clicking the home button and swiping all of them off the screen.
  3. Restart the Link 2500 Card Reader by pressing and holding the Yellow button and the # button until it reboots.
  4. Run talech and retry pairing steps.
 iPad cannot locate the link 2500
  1. Force close ALL Applications on iPad by double clicking the home button and swiping them off the screen.
  2. Turn Bluetooth off on the iPad and wait 10 seconds, then turn Bluetooth back on.
  3. Turn talech app and follow the pairing steps. Link 2500 Set Up with talech Register
 Network settings error
  1. Force close all Apps on iPad by double-clicking the home button and swiping all of them off the screen.
  2. Reset the Network Settings on your iPad. This will not erase any file data, but it will erase your Wi-Fi passwords, so please take note of them before taking this step. Select Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Your device should automatically reboot when this is done.
  3. Allow the device to restart and then connect back to Wi-Fi.
  4. Turn talech app and follow the pairing steps. 
 Check the Link 2500 is in Bluetooth mode.
  1. Type 0001 on the keypad.
  2. Select Communication Type.
If you do not see Communication Type, you may have a different device version. Restart and enter 0003 instead, then select Communication Type.
3. Select Bluetooth.
4. Press Yellow to return to Admin Menu.
5. Press Yellow to save and reboot.
6. Select Yes.
7. Allow Reader to reboot as normal.
8. Force close talech app.
9. Pair Reader as normal.
10. Run a test transaction.
11. Reader May Need to Update
12. Proceed with a Test Transaction
 Permissions are not enabled on the iPadThis applies to devices iOS14 and above.
  1. Click into the iPad settings.
  2. scroll to the bottom until you can see the Register app.
  3. Click on the talech register.
  4. Enable the Bluetooth and Local Network permissions.
  If the issue persists, contact talech support.

Screen Brightness is too low

Screen Brightness is too lowSettings need to be adjusted.
  1. Press 2634 on the Link 2500.
  2. Select Green.
  3. Select Control Panel.
  4. Select Terminal Settings > ECO.
  5. You can use Green to increase and Red to decrease until you are happy with the screen resolution.

Screen darkens after a few seconds

  1. Press 2634 on the Link 2500.
  2. Select F.
  3. Select F3 to highlight the Tetra Admin option.
  4. Select the Green button.
  5. Press F3 until you get to Configure Backlight.
  6. Use the Green button to select Backlight Time-Out.
  7. Enter the number of seconds (between 10 - 99,999) for the backlight to stay lit for that time.
  8. Press the Green button to confirm.

Bluetooth icon isn't appearing on Link 2500

  1. Press 0003 to open the Admin Menu.
  2. Open Bluetooth Settings.
  3. Turn Bluetooth on by selecting 1.
  4. Press the red X to exit the admin menu.

This Lane Closed Message

If the screen shows a 'This Lane Closed' error message, this means that the device is not connected. Please follow the steps in Link 2500 Set Up with talech Register.
