This article will provide troubleshooting steps for the Poynt C when a SIM card is having issues connecting to the LTE/Wireless network.
SIM card connection issues
If the merchant is using a SIM card with their Poynt C but is not receiving LTE/wireless connection, follow these steps to setup/configure the APN.
- On the Poynt C, swipe down two times.
- Briefly press and hold Mobile data.
- Select Advanced.
- Select Access Poynt Names.
- Select the + sign.
- Select Name.
- Type the name. Select OK. ATT Direct 4G is the one mainly used.
- Select APN.
- Type the APN. Select OK. usbcelavon.com.attz is the one mainly used.
- The screen displays as shown below. Scroll down and verify the MCC is set to 310 and MNC is set to 170. Add this information if missing.
- Select the three dots in the upper-right corner.
- Select Save.
- Select the dot next to ATT DIRECT 4G or the APN that was just added.
- Reboot the terminal.
- Hold down the button on the bottom of the terminal for a couple of seconds.
- Select Restart that displays on the screen.
- After terminal reboot, you will see a wireless signal bar in the upper-right with an x
in it.
- Swipe down two times.
- Briefly hold down Mobile data.
- Select Advanced.
- Select the dot next to ATT DIRECT 4G.
- Reboot the terminal.
- Hold down the button on the bottom of the terminal for a couple of seconds.
- Select Restart that displays on the screen.
- LTE and the wireless indicator will show in the upper right-hand corner
.
Note: It may take a few mins for the wireless connection to show.
