With Bluetooth devices, some connectivity issues can arise. Refer to the troubleshooting steps below.

Moby 5500 will not connect to Bluetooth

Sometimes there are issues with the Bluetooth connection for the Moby 5500 or the connection can randomly drop. Any issues can usually be resolved by following the steps below.

Solution 1

  • Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled.
  • Force close ALL Applications.
  • Restart the Moby 5500 Card Reader.
  • Run talech and retry pairing steps.

Solution 2

  • Force close ALL Applications.
  • Turn Bluetooth off and wait 10 seconds. Turn Bluetooth back on.
  • Run talech app and restart pairing steps.

Solution 3

  • Force close ALL Applications.
  • Restart Network Settings. Make sure you know your Network Password before resetting.
  • Connect back to Wi-Fi.
  • Run talech app and restart pairing steps.

Solution 4

  • Force close ALL Applications.
  • Reset the Network Settings on your iPad/iPhone. This will not erase any file data, but it will erase your Wi-Fi passwords, so please take note of them before taking this step. (Select Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Your device should automatically reboot when this is done.
  • Allow the device to restart and then connect back to Wi-Fi.
  • Run talech app and restart pairing steps.

Moby 5500 Error "Operation could not be completed."

If you are receiving this error message after getting the Moby/5500 paired, follow the steps below. 

  1. Log out of your store account on the talech App.
  2. Forget the device from the Bluetooth Settings.
Note: It should NOT be connected there but check to see if it is.
  1. Turn off Bluetooth in the iOS settings.
  2. Change phone name in iOS settings. Settings from iOS > General > About > Name > change the phone name to something completely unique.
  3. Force close all Apps.
  4. Turn Bluetooth on in the iOS settings.
  5. Log back into your store account on the talech app.
  6. Ensure the Moby5500 is in pairing mode (blue light will be flashing).
  7. Follow normal steps to connect in the app.
