Create or edit an employee on talech.com
- Navigate to Employees > Employees.
- To create a new employee: Select the New Employee button in the top right.
- To edit an employee: Select the employee you want to edit.
Employee Details
- In the Employee Details section, add or edit the first name, last name and email.
- The Phone Number and Description are optional fields that you can add or leave blank.
Employee Settings
Complete or edit the Employee Settings section.
- Add/edit an Employee ID.
- Add/edit an Employee PIN. Select the Create PIN button and add a PIN the employee will use to log into Register. A 4-digit PIN is used for normal users. A 6-digit PIN is required for managers and admins.
- Leave Employee Status as Active. A status of Inactive removes all permissions for the employee.
Employee Roles
In the Employee Roles section, add/edit the appropriate role for the employee.
- Click the Add a role field and select an existing role to assign to the employee. More than one role can be assigned.
- The first role assigned becomes the default, but you can select the ellipsis […] > Make default to any additional role assigned to make it the default for the employee.
| Note: A default role is the permission set used if the employee signs into the register without clocking in first. Refer to Employee Permissions Breakdown for more details. |
- If you are a multi-store account and want to add this employee to another of your business locations, select Add Location and add the role for the new location.
- When done creating/editing the employee, select the Create Employee (for new) or Save Changes (for edits) button in the top right to save.
If you’d like to customize the role for an employee so that they have some of the permissions associated with a role but not all, refer to the article Modifying Employee Permissions .

Create or edit an employee on talech Register
- Login as an admin and navigate to Dashboard > Back Office > Employees.
- Click (+) Button at the top right to add a New Employee or click on an existing employee to make changes to their account/permissions.
- Fill out all required fields (listed in red text). Required information varies depending on the account type (Admin, User, or Manager).

Create or edit an employee on talech Mobile or talech Terminal
| Note: A talech Mobile or talech Terminal user created within the app will automatically be assigned an Admin role. Admin roles have full access to talech Mobile and talech.com. |
- Log into the talech Mobile or talech Terminal app.
- Select the Business icon on the right side of the Dashboard screen.

- Select Users.
- Select the + icon to add a new user.

- Add the new user’s details. The list below describes what details to provide for the new user. *An asterisk indicates a required field.
- First Name* - The user's first name.
- Last Name* - The user's last name.
- Set 6 Digit PIN & Confirm PIN* - A unique pin used to access the user's account on the app.
- Employee Number* - A unique number to identify the employee.
- Email* - A unique email the user can access to receive an email for multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Phone Number (Optional) - The user's phone number.
- Description (Optional) - Provide additional information regarding the user.
- Select Save in the top right bar.
- The user will receive an email with temporary credentials to access talech Mobile and talech.com.
- Have the new user log in with the temporary password and create a new password to use going forward.

Remove employee permissions
From talech.com
Change an employee’s status to Inactive to remove all permissions for the employee but retain the employee profile in the system.
- Go to talech.com > Employees > Employees.
- Select the employee you want to edit.
- In the Employee Settings section, select the dropdown in the Employee Status field and select Inactive. This removes all permissions for the employee
From talech Mobile or talech Terminal
- Select the Business icon on the right side of the Dashboard screen.
- Select Users.
- Select the employee you want to edit.
- Toggle the Active setting to OFF.
