Equipment Help (talech) FAQ

Please Note:   

  • If you are using an EMV Debit Card Reader, you must have your signature settings set to Sign on Device for your talech Register to prompt adding a tip to the transaction.  
  • If you have the signature setting option set to Sign on Paper, the talech Register will not be able to add a tip at the time of the transaction and you will not be able to later adjust the tip on the settlement screen. 

How to Enable Sign on Device

  1. Go to talech Register and select Back Office > Settings 
  2. Under General scroll down to the Signature and Tips section.  
  3. Tap on ‘Customer Signature’ and select ‘Sign on Device’.  

Talech will now prompt your customers to add a tip to the transaction prior to PIN entry, allowing your debit card customers to leave a tip.
